Quotes and invoices

Prepare my invoices: notices, legal status, numbering

In Settings > Invoicing, you fill in once what is printed on your quotes and invoices.

Before you start

  • Invoicing is only available to accounts based in France.
  • Empty fields are suggested from your account and your ChiptuneMAP listing: check them before saving.
  1. Fill in your company

In "Your company", fill in the 6 required fields: "Company name", "SIRET" (14 digits), "Address", "Postcode", "City" and "Email". Without them, a quote cannot be saved.

  2. Choose the legal status

Choose from the 6 statuses offered. For a company (EURL, SARL, SASU, SAS), "Share capital" and "Registry city (RCS)" are required; the RCS is taken from the SIRET. For a sole trader (EI) or micro-business, "EI" follows your name. Craftsman: turn on "Registered in the trade register".

  3. Set VAT

If you are VAT-exempt, turn on "I am VAT-exempt": the article 293 B CGI notice is added automatically. Otherwise, enter your VAT number (FR + 11 characters) and the "VAT rate" (20% by default). Tick "VAT on debits" only if you chose this option with the tax office.

  4. Choose the prices shown

"Service prices on your quotes and invoices": "Excl. and incl. VAT per line" or "Incl. VAT only", which you can change later on each document. "Type of services": "Services", "Parts sales" or "Both".

  5. Payment and legal notices

"Insert a template" fills "Payment details" or "Legal notices" with a text to adapt. Replace the XXXX with your real IBAN: as long as they remain, the field shows in red.

  6. Check the preview and save

"Preview" shows a €500 excl. VAT invoice with your settings, updated as you type. Click "Save" at the top. An incorrect field is flagged.

  7. Numbering is automatic

Nothing to set. Quotes are numbered D-YYYY-MM-NNN. A draft invoice gets its number YYYY-MM-NNN when issued, following the previous one, with no gap. Credit notes have their own series AV-YYYY-MM-NNN.

What your customer sees

At the top of the document: your logo, name, address, SIRET and VAT number. At the bottom: your status line (e.g. "SAS au capital de 5 000 € · RCS Strasbourg …"), your payment details and your legal notices.

If it doesn't work

"Complete your invoicing information first." shows on a quote.
One of the 6 required fields in "Your company" is missing. Fill them in and save.
Can I choose my own number format?
No. The number is assigned automatically to keep a continuous sequence, as the law requires.
