Privacy policy

This policy explains what data we process on chiptunepro.com and app.chiptunepro.com, why, for how long, and how to exercise your rights. The public ChiptuneMAP directory has its own policy on chiptunemap.com.
1. Who we are
ChiptunePRO is published by Benjamin Fargeot, sole trader (entrepreneur individuel, EI), SIRET 940 859 457 00019, 2 rue du Général Louis Clouet, 33650 La Brède, France, the controller of the processing described here.

2. Two different roles
- Controller: for the data of our business customers (account, subscription, support), of the professionals listed in the directory, and of visitors to our websites.
- Processor: for the data our customers record about their own customers (customer records, vehicles, quotes, invoices, appointments, requests received through their contact form or simulator). The professional is the controller; we process this data only on their behalf, under the data processing agreement. To exercise your rights over this data, contact the professional concerned.
3. Customer account and subscription
- Data: last name, first name, email, phone, company, SIRET and VAT number if you provide them, workshop address, language, password (stored hashed), subscription and payment history (we never see your card number), IP address and browser used to sign in.
- Why: to create and manage your account, provide the tools, invoice the subscription, support you and keep the service secure.
- Legal basis: performance of the contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR); our accounting and tax obligations for invoices (Article 6(1)(c)); our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure (Article 6(1)(f)).
- Deleting your account: from your settings, once any paid subscription has been cancelled. Deletion takes effect 30 days after the request (it can be cancelled until then) and erases the account and the data it contains, including your customers' data.
4. News and offers by email
We send our customers emails about ChiptunePRO news and offers related to their professional activity.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in informing our business customers (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Opting out: at any time, without giving a reason, via the unsubscribe link in each email, in your account preferences, or by writing to contact@chiptunepro.com. Emails needed for the service (invoices, security, requests received) continue.
5. ChiptuneMAP directory and invitations
Each customer has a free listing on the ChiptuneMAP directory, which they can hide at any time. We also list professionals who have not signed up, based on business information they publish themselves (website, business pages), and write to their business address to invite them to claim their listing: one invitation, then at most two reminders.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest, and that of drivers, in having a complete directory (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Your rights: each email contains a link to unsubscribe and a link to remove the listing. A professional who removes their listing is added to an opt-out list so they are not added again. Details are in the chiptunemap.com privacy policy.
6. Google sign-in and Google Calendar
With "Continue with Google", we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google, only to create your account and sign you in.
If you turn on Google Calendar sync, we read the events in your Google calendar to show them in your ChiptunePRO calendar. You can turn it off at any time in ChiptunePRO or remove access from your Google account.
ChiptunePRO's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. This data is not sold, not used for advertising, and not read by a person, except at your request, for security, or to comply with the law.
7. Audience measurement and cookies
We measure traffic on chiptunepro.com with Umami, hosted on our own servers, without cookies and without storing your IP address. On app.chiptunepro.com, no page views are measured: only two anonymous events are counted (sign-up, completion of the account setup).
We only use strictly necessary cookies or local storage (language, signing in to your account, closing the information banner). They do not require your consent.
8. Service providers
We never sell your data. It is only shared with the following providers, to the extent needed for their task:

Authorities may also receive data when the law requires it.
9. Retention periods
- Customer account: as long as the account exists, then erased 30 days after the deletion request.
- Invoices and accounting records: 10 years (legal obligation).
- Data of our customers' customers: as long as the professional's account exists; they can edit or delete it at any time.
- Technical and security logs (including IP addresses): 12 months.
- History of emails sent: 12 months.
- Listed professionals who never replied: 3 years after the last contact.
- Opt-out list: as long as needed to respect your objection, limited to the necessary information.
- Audience statistics: anonymous.
10. Security
- Hosting: Contabo servers in Germany (EU).
- Connections: encrypted with HTTPS.
- Passwords: never stored in plain text (hashed).
- Access: each account only sees its own data; administration access is limited to the publisher.
- Backups: regular, so the service can be restored after an incident.
11. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port your data, and to give instructions about what happens to it after your death.
To exercise them, write to contact@chiptunepro.com: we reply within one month.
You can also lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of your country:

12. Changes
We may update this policy. In case of a significant change, we notify our customers by email or in the application before it takes effect.
